What is a short sale? A short sale is where an offer is made on the property, however the sale proceeds are less than the amount owed, with an inclusive of sale costs and other fees.
How does the short sale process works? A successful short sale commences with contacting the lender(s)to inform them that a short sale is desired. If the concept is acceptable by the lender(s) offers can be solicited. When a final purchase agreement is agreed to by seller and buyer, it can be submitted to the lender(s).
Also at this time (if not sooner) the financial information and other supporting documents required by the lender(s) can be submitted on your behalf. Around this time the lender(s) will likely contact you to set up an appointment for an appraisal or a broker price opinion. Upon approval from the lender(s) all parties will be notified to allow for a timely closing.
